5/22: Attend the #WearOrange Rally On June 3
Colorado has the 7th highest suicide rate in the country and typically more than half of these deaths involve firearms! More than 500 Coloradans took their own lives with a firearm in 2014. We need to work together to promote safe gun storage and the BeSMART program to protect our kids and teens. Let’s turn Durango ORANGE on June 3 to show that we care about gun safety in Durango. You can also #WearOrange on Friday, June 2, the day proclaimed by our Mayor as Durango Gun Violence Awareness Day. We CAN promote gun safety and reduce gun violence with simple solutions. If you know downtown businesses that will display our posters or if you have ideas for speakers, please let us know.
