There are three seats on the Durango 9R School District Board on the ballot and only one of them is contested, District E. The candidates for this seat are:

Shere Kuss Byrd
Cara-Lyn Lappen
Emily Newcomer

The candidates will be on a panel and answer audience questions. The candidates for the two uncontested seats, Nancy Stubbs, District A and Mick Souder, District C, have been invited to attend.

There will also be a discussion of the Issue on the City Ballot, an authorization to increase property taxes 2.5 mills to pay for fire protection and emergency services. A similar issue will be on ballots of voters who live outside the city in the Durango Fire Protection District.
