11/14: Protect Arctic National Wildlife Refuge! DEADLINE 11/15!

Sen. Murkowski has held hearings on Drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge as a way to generate income to “pay” Tax Bill. They held hearings earlier this month and have left the record open until Wednesday, November 15, 2017 for additional comments.  Critical habitat in the Refuge and the integrity of species that depend upon it could be forever destroyed.  The Energy and Resources Committee needs to hear from us.

SENATE BILL #:  Action is associated with the Tax Bill. Regarding Hearings Energy and Resources Committee.

For Record of November 2, 2017 Hearing
Dear Chairman Murkowski, Ranking Member Cantwell, and Members of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee:

I am writing to oppose opening up parts of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to oil and gas exploration and drilling in an effort to generate necessary funds to pass the Tax Bill.
ANWR is a national treasure and we should not be selling our National Treasure in order to shore up this Tax Bill. Opening up ANWR to drilling risks destroying this beautiful and pristine wildlife area. Many Native Americans rely on the ANWR to preserve their way of life. Many species also rely on this land for their survival.
Opening up ANWR for oil and gas exploration and drilling will put these tribes and species at risk of another major environmental disaster and will work to destroy this pristine habitat.
Please do not open up ANWR for oil and gas exploration and drilling.

Thank you for your consideration.

WHEN TO COMMENT:   IMMEDIATELY. Deadline is November 15, 2017.

WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT:  Fewer people are strongly supporting protection of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) from oil and gas exploration and drilling than previously.  Alaska Senator Murkowski is pushing hard to open the refuge to exploitation.

URGENT; SEND COMMENTS FOR THE RECORD TO SENATE COMMITTEE ON ENERGY AND RESOURCES ABOUT OPENING THE ARCTIC NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE (ANWR) TO OIL/GAS EXPLORATION/DRILLING BEFORE NOV. 15, 2017

The committee hearing was held Nov. 2, but will accept testimony for inclusion into the record for an additional two weeks following the hearing.

HOW TO COMMENT: Send a brief email OPPOSING the ANWR provision to open the ANWR to oil/gas leases for extraction. If this is included in the budget and passes, among other irreparable damage, pristine polar bear and caribou habitat in the Arctic Refuge could be forever lost to oil fields.
