Indivisible Durango Women’s March 2019

Speakers will include Katie Young, Planned ParenthoodCommunity Organizer; Captain Gail Harris, (United StatesNavy, Ret.); April Yazza, 2018-2019 Ms. Hozhoni, FLC; Barbara McLachlan, Colorado State House Representative, and Katie Kandarian-Morris, Minister, Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Durango. Emcee will be Allie Wolfe, Activist, Comedian, & FLC Student.

The theme of the Women’s March movement nationally is Women’s Wave: Building Power. The Women’s March is a women-led movement bringing together people of all genders, ages, races, cultures, disabilities and backgrounds to affirm our shared humanity and pronounce our bold message of resistance and self-determination.

The mission of the Women’s March is to harness the political power of diverse women and their communities to create transformative social change. The Women’s March is committed to dismantling systems of oppression through nonviolent resistance and building inclusive structures guided by self-determination, dignity and respect.

As we move forward into 2019 and beyond, we will call on the friends and connections made at this year’s march as a guiding light and source of continued inspiration as we all do the important work of grassroots organizing.

Signs are welcome and warm clothing is encouraged. Warm drinks will be available.

WHEN: On Saturday, January 19 – 11 AM

WHERE: D&SNG Train Station at 5th and Main and march down Main Avenue to Buckley Park for Rally

WHAT: The Rally will feature speakers, music, and a chance to get involved and meet other activists.
