Thank you for your time and attention.
WHO MEMBER IS TO CONTACT: Colorado Senate
Senator Don Coram 1 (303) 866-4884 and/or http://www.doncoram.com
WHEN IS MEMBER TO CALL OR WRITE: Flood Senator Coram’s office with calls ASAP, tomorrow April 29, 2019
WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT
At the ID General Meeting April 27, 2019, Sheriff Sean Smith spoke about immigration and ICE. He is appalled at the arrests being made daily by ICE in Durango for misdemeanor lack of documentation. He urged support for HB1124. He’s not sure the bill will pass the Senate. He urged us to call Senator Coram.
House Bill 1124 codifies a court ruling preventing jails from holding people just on immigration offenses and would prevent Colorado police from working on behalf of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. But it started out much more sweeping. (see linked information above)
