WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT: There is an active push to NOT use NGSS, and to remove Evolution and Climate Science from the state standards. The NGSS incorporate a huge Environmental Education component that is currently not part of our standards. Here´s a little more about the NGSS…
The Next Generation Science Standards are relatively and involve more modern, effective pedagogy. Extremely importantly, the standards include a whole section on Earth and Human Activity including Human Impacts on Earth Systems and Global Climate Change and Biological Evolution. You can see these and the other core ideas included on page 4 of this summary.
