HOUSE BILL # 4532 “Shash Jaa National Monument and Indian Creek National Monument Act”
This bill is an attempt to ratify President Trumps probably illegal effort to radically shrink Bears Ears National Monument.

“Hi, my name is …, I’m a constituent from (e.g., Durango) zip code 81***. I am opposed to House Bill 4532, which the Natural Resources Committee has scheduled for a hearing on Tuesday. Rep. Tipton needs to VOTE NO on this bill, because it is clearly a violation of the will of the vast majority of the American people. 99% of the million-plus comments on the national monument review were in favor of continuing protection as-is. Even 90% of Utah citizens spoke in favor of the monuments. Shrinking Bears Ears is an attempt to allow states to override federal authority over our public lands. If this bill were to pass, public lands in all states, including Colorado would be under threat. We need to stand for protecting Bears Ears and all public lands.”

Our representative needs to hear loud and clear that we will not tolerate the administration’s tampering with national monuments against the will of the American public – even the majority of Utah citizens are in opposition! If this bill passes both houses of Congress, it will permanently shrink Bears Ears National Monument.
